It’s Christmas time at hour home.
We got a fresh pine tree and mom and Marisol helped decorate it while Gabriel and Claude played with Alexandre. I was worried that he would be pulling the ornaments and bringing the tree down, short circuit the house etc, but instead he got the hang of what we were doing and tried to help hang ornaments in the branches: “papa (papa noel), niña, bola, casa, vaca,” he instructed us on what they were. He loves the “luces” (xmas lights).
Last week we baked “Alpenbrote,” got bredele and other goodies from Alsace, I made a wreath with four red candles for our table keeping on Alsace’s tradition to lit a new candle each Sunday before Christmas, panetones, hot chocolate, chocolate calendar and little gifts under the tree, everything to built the excitement for our son and try to capture some for our-more cynical-selves as well. Tell me how is your Chrismas season going.
Ya llegaron las fiestas a nuestro hogar.
Pusimos el árbol, lo decoramos en familia tomando chocolate y panetón. Alexandre nos ayudo a poner las bombitas en el árbol. Está fascinado con todas las luces y colores. También adoptamos las tradiciones del país de Claude, hacer galletitas, poner cuatro velas en una corona de pino, cada Domingo antes de navidad se enciende una vela más.
La noche buena la pasaremos este año en casa de Narziss y Priscilla. Nos vamos a quedar a dormir allá porque viven un poco lejos de nosotros. pensamos ir a la playa el 25 aunque aquí es invierno siempre es lindo ir al mar, llevar a los perros y a Alexandre a jugar en la arena. Ojala que no llueva. Por el momento llueve a cantaros en el área de la Bahia de San Francisco. Como van las fiestas por alla? (Pueden escribir en esta página)
